Manufacturer warning: magnets
Magnets sit in the frame and the lower headgear clips (field strength up to 400 mT) and may detach during sleep. Contraindicated if you, or anyone in close physical contact while the mask is in use (such as a bed partner), has an active implant that interacts with magnets (pacemaker, implantable cardioverter defibrillator, neurostimulator, cerebrospinal fluid shunt, insulin or infusion pump) or a metallic implant or object containing ferromagnetic material (aneurysm clip, embolic coils, stents, valves, electrodes, hearing or balance implant with magnets, ocular implant, metal splinter in the eye). Keep the magnets at least 150 mm (6 inches) away from any implant or medical device that could be affected. ResMed's Field Safety Notice of 20 November 2023 raised this distance from 50 mm to 150 mm and broadened the contraindications; ResMed updated the labeling rather than withdrawing the mask, and the FDA classified the action as a Class I recall in the United States.
